The Templeton Honors College is proud to announce their recognition of a new standardized test for college applicants. The Classic Learning Test, or CLT, has been developed by Classic Learning Initiatives (CLI) as an alternative to the more common SAT and ACT taken by students in their junior and senior years. Aside from the difference in emphasis, an added benefit to students is the ability to receive their results the same day they take the test.
Recognizing the value of the classical education tradition passed on over millennia, the CLT gives students the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities by interacting with the great texts and minds of the Western tradition. The test incorporates theistic and secular perspectives, challenging literature and mathematical ideas, and draws from a wide variety of sources. Such a test has much in common with the curriculum of the Templeton Honors College, and those students who score well on the three sections (verbal reasoning, grammar/writing, and quantitative reasoning) will no doubt find our curriculum both challenging and thought-provoking, as well as a natural continuation of their educational journey.
If you are taking or have taken the CLT, you might be eligible for a $25,000 scholarship to attend the Templeton Honors College. Click here to find out more!
If you know a student who’d be a good fit for the College please take a moment to recommend them.
